Into the Woods

Howdy-do (I don't think I like that greeting, still working on a catchy one and yes I googled but nothing good came up) and welcome back. Did yall read the last blog? I hope you did and enjoyed it. I'm still trying to figure out how to even work this here dang ol blog and also Id like to do things a little different but again it hasn't come to me yet. I feel it will evolve in good time. Baby steps right.

On todays blog post I wanted to show you some swatches of a new collection by SuperChic Nail Lacquer called Into the Woods. It consist of 10 new shades but being that I'm a broke basic bitch I only bought two. I picked up You Don't Know Jack About my Beans and  Baker's Hunger for a Bun in the Oven.

First lets start with Baker's Hunger for a Bun in the Oven. The description on the store site is: A muted deep lush blue-gray with contrasting fiery-copper iridescent shimmer and holographic effects.
Swatch photos show 3 coats plus a top coat. It does dry to a matte like finish. I'm not sure if its supposed to or if it has something to do with the shimmer pigment.

Next is You Don't Know Jack About my Beans. The given description is A lush artichoke green with strong contrasting fiery iridescent, holographic and green shimmer effects. My swatch is 3 coats plus a top coat, it too dries to a matte like finish. Lots of girls like that matte look. I'm not one of them.

I could not for the life of me get the true earthy green color that it is irl. So I tried to take pictures in different lighting around the house. This one below is in my light box.

This next photo is taken in direct sun light.

This one is taken in my laundry room where all my nail polish magic happens.

In conclusion I felt a little bummed after swatching these seeing that they are really similar in color. The shimmer is exactly the same. And going threw my swatch photos I could barely tell which one was which and I honestly hope I got them right. All in all they are beautiful high quality polishes, the shimmer and holo is spectacular. But the base colors are a little dull.

Press Play

Hi there all you nail freaks out there. I wanted to come up with a catchy head line like a few other nail blogs I read and idolize, I got nothing...except nail freaks (sorry not sorry, no hashtags here)...it will come to me someday.
Ok so anyways heres my first review of nail polish on my rusty old blog that Im resurrecting . Did you read my post this morning? I love writing. I love words and what better way to show all that shat than to blog away.
Ok off track, back to why Im here....you still with me? I got some yummy beautiful perfect for fall polishes from Bee aka Nail Honey. Her new line is called Press Play. It consist of 9 colors. I got to swatch 4 of them.

First up is Red Light Special. This is a yummy berry red color with loads of holo glitters throughout. Its textured when dried but I applied a top coat and it was smooth as silk. Two coats show here in the swatch photo.

Next up is Blurred Lines. This is a gray crelly that has silver shimmer with subtle holo shimmer throughout. This is two coats no top coat because it dries to a satin finish.

Oh I love this one! This is Back to Black. Very smooth black jelly, loaded with blue, silver, pink glitters. Ive even seen some gold in there. Photo shows 2 easy coats, no top coat.

Oooooh I love this one so so very much. I have this weird thing for tiny black glitters in nail polish and this one has the right amount to make it one of my newest favorite polishes. This one is called Multifaceted. Its an amazing holo polish perfect alone or it would be amazing in a glitter gradient. It contains holo glitters, the sweet black glitters and some larger hex holo glitters throughout.

And Last but not least, I saved this one for last because I don't think its apart of her new Press Play line. This one is Gilded Ivory. A very sweet nude cream polish with REAL 18 karat gold throughout and it has a slight pink shimmer to it. 3 coats and a top coat.

So how'd I do? Did I do it right? Lol what is the right way on a blog?!! Its my blog I can type what I want to....right (Biting my nails)(No not biting my nails cause that's a horrible habit, uh, shaking in my boots....boots hmmm I'm wearing flip flops...oh whatever)!!
Release date on these are tba. You can find me @homemademomsnails and Bee @nailhoney on Instagram.
